Air Mattress
The air mattress or inflatable bed is one of the great inventions for emergency purposes. If a guest arrives and needs sleeping accommodation, an air bed is the ideal solution. If you are on a camping trip and staying overnight in the wilderness, air mattresses are the logical solution. Their major benefits of course are their ability to be deflated and thus made very small and their lightweight and small condition when they are deflated.
A deflated air mattress can be stored in your home or rucksack or in almost any dry area. Their size is quite small and popping them in a cupboard, drawer or on top of the wardrobe or under a bed is as easy as pie. Then, when needed, it only takes a few minutes to inflate the air bed and have it ready for use. Inflation can be orally and this should be done slowly simply so as not to over excite the human. Alternatively there are small foot pumps which take all the not-so-hard work out of the inflating role.
Air mattresses can be placed on any hard surface and sheets, towels or sleeping bags complete the process.
The majority of inflatable beds are singles but larger sizes are available. And there are surprising benefits for the health of people in some cases. People with certain muscular problems including a sore back may find they get a better night’s sleep lying on an air bed rather than their traditional mattress. It can certainly be worth a try as the sufferer has nothing to lose but their insomnia.
One significant factor when considering the purchase of an air bed is the cost. Buying even a conventional mattress let alone a bed and a mattress will cost a significant amount of money. An inflatable bed can be a tiny fraction of that cost. When you add in the fact that the air bed can be deflated and easily stored, you are getting an additional and important piece of furniture for an extremely modest investment. Then when you add the fact that the life of your inflatable bed could last for many years, you are looking at a serious bargain.
Some people look at an air bed and don’t like the idea of sleeping so close to the floor. Well that problem is easily solved when you discover that many air beds come with an inflatable base, an inbuilt base and if you think that will take far too much huffing and puffing from you, the air bed has a built-in air pump as well. In fact the development of air beds now includes such an addition as a built-in pillow. They are really now the ideal bed for emergency purposes without taking up valuable space elsewhere in your home.
And your air mattress doesn’t have to look drab and plain as they come in a variety of colours, styles and finishes. Their cost is low, their comfort is high and their value is fantastic.
